Anthony (known as Ant) joined the Homes Together team in 2011, starting at The Gables before moving to Caxton Lodge in early 2015. Ant has family members who are deaf and was inspired to take up a career in care following his Level 1 in British Sign Language (BSL), undertaken during his studies for a multimedia technology degree at Leeds University. Upon graduating, Ant worked at the Leeds Society for Deaf and Blind People before joining full-time and completing his Level 2 BSL course. He also spent some time as a volunteer in Nepal teaching English.

On returning to the UK after taking a career break to teach English in Nepal for four months, he took on the role of support worker at Homes Together, promoting independence for residents.

Working his way up through senior and deputy roles, Ant is now Manager at Caxton Lodge, with responsibility for overseeing and supporting the team, safety management, staff training and planning tailored activities for residents. He prides himself on being approachable, committed and open, not just for residents but for colleagues as well.

To develop his skills and knowledge further, Ant is studying a part-time Masters degree in Advanced Autism Practice, which will assist in the development of service users at Homes Together, who have a variety of learning difficulties including autism. All team members take part in internal and external training to develop their understanding of specific conditions.
